So I reinstalled my WordPress 8 times thinking the database is screwed (thinking I’m going to lose all 55+ posts I did in India) only to find out the reason why clicking any links wouldn’t go anywhere (“not found”) is because there was no .hta access file in my server. And the reason for that was because when I reinstalled WordPress 3 there was no .hta access file. The .hta access file did not exist in the server.

To create one (I must’ve deleted the previous one when I stripped out my server and did a full reinstall) you just go to your admin page, Settings, Permalinks – and choose http://yourURL.com/2010/08/sample-post.
